As a father and a psychiatrist, Jean-Baptiste wanted to testify with this double perspective, from his own experience.

Jean-Baptiste Dethieux is the father of a child with a disability that makes her at times small and helpless, and at other times large and strong, so strong that she seems to embrace the world in its entirety, to be amused by it or to rejoice in it with a disarming innocence. She is then not only this child suffering from a handicap, but also the incarnation of a simple joy and a radiant life force.

But Jean-Baptiste is also a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst of children and adolescents and, as such, receives children in pain and sometimes also carrying a handicap.

Quote & Reviews :

«Loneliness is always present in these hybrid beings who find themselves on both sides at the same time. They are precious because they remind us that everything is not black and white. They force us to leave a binary, simplistic world that we often set up to protect ourselves. They become more than spokespersons, they are the passers-by for the worst and the best according to their pain to be put at the service of an assumed capacity to suffer.»
